Creativo supporting the Montse Benitez Foundation

All of us at Creativo are really pleased to be supporting the Montse Benitez Foundation. Rafa Benitez explained what his wife’s Foundation is all about: “For the past seven years we have been close to the problems of our Community and we have tried to help in the best way we could. After giving privately a big amount of money to different charities, we thought it was time to coordinate our work and effort in a more effective way and try to reach more people in Merseyside in need of support. Before the Montse Benitez Foundation was created these were the Charities which my wife and I have helped over the past few years: Hoylake Cottage Appeal, Lily Centre, Liverpool Women’s Hospital, NECCR, NSPCC, British Heart Foundation, CHILDREN with CANCER UK, Nicola’s Fund, Arrowe Park Hospital, The Hillsborough Families Group, Rowan Park School, St. Bridget’s School, RDA, Wirral Autistic Society and the Special Olympics.” Find out more at www.rafabenitez.com

Madrid – a wonderful city – part 1

Museo del Jamon

Three of us from Creativo have visited Madrid during the past few weeks. And we all agree it’s a most vibrant, exciting city with a wonderful buzz.
I can thoroughly recommend the Museum of Ham. Not quite what you might be thinking…it’s actually a chain of tapas bars (with restaurants upstairs) serving Jamon, chorizo and much more. There are hams hanging all around the premises. Vegetarians look away now!
Wander in, lean against the bar, order a beer and taste the exquisite meats. It’s fast food Spanish style. And it’s my first choice any day of the week!

RIP Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs

As a graphic designer I use Apple computers all day, every day. And I don’t really know how to use a Windows PC.
I remember seeing my first Apple Macintosh at Corporate Culture in 1988. “Wooahh! What’s that? I’m an artist not a computer person”…
Little over 20 years later I have an iphone I don’t leave home without. An ipad that’s simply great and a number of Apple iMac computers that are essential in the job I do.
I love Apple. Wonderful products that make my life easier. Thanks Steve Jobs.

It’s only rock n’ roll…

I’m an old rocker! The seventies…long hair…Marshall amps…loud guitars…love em! Imagine having a great guitarist as a client. Meet Dr David Crilly. Drama Director, university lecturer and guitarist extraordinaire. His band, Mothership, are the top Led Zep tribute act in the UK. See them at Pacific Road Arts Centre, Birkenhead on 24th September. You’ll have a great time. Guaranteed. I took this shot of Dave last week in a local pub. Raw Iphone image – no retouching. I’m amazed at what the iphone 4 camera – and Mothership – can do.

A-Maize-ing

Our new booklets for Brimstage Maize Maze have arrived in, and are looking fantastic! We are very proud of the design and hope that kids will enjoy completing the games and puzzles as they find their way through the bug-themed maze this summer.

Welcome to our new website

Well, after eight years, I thought we’d better ring the changes. Our previous website served us really well. Many thanks to Andy Culbert who created it all those years ago…
This new site has been put together by another Andy – my colleague Andy Cody. We think it looks great. But let’s know what you think about it.
We plan to blog frequently. So watch this space. Cheers Brian

Sonic turns 20!

20 years have passed since the first game was released back in 1991, and it still remains a cult classic amongst video game fans. Not bad for a blue anthropomorphic hedgehog with running shoes!

Rain

I love this illustration by Jillian Tamaki. Evokes the same kind of feelings I would usually associate with Edward Hopper paintings, but the illustration style is more modern and minimalistic.
